Lo sciamanesimo nella Siberia orientale.
Alcuni aspetti delle relazioni tra umani e non-umani
LIA ZOLA
Abstract. Recent anthropological resoning, fostered by the ontological turn debate tackled the issue of multispecies etnography: according to this approach, animals, insects, plants and other organisms have started to appear alongside humans with legibly biographical and political lives. In Eastern Siberia the relationship between animals and shamans entails a complex set of representations that often refer to a set of worlds inhabited by spirit-masters and deities. My paper aims at illustrating a few examples of animal-shamanism relations in Eastern Siberia and explore persistences and transformations under changing circumstances.
Memoria e patrimonio. Interpretazioni e strategie mozambicane
ROSA TOLLA
Abstract. The contribution focuses on two cases of studies obtained during ethnographic fieldwork research in Mozambique: Ilha de Moçambique and Mafalala, a suburban neighbourhood of Maputo. The polarized interpretation of the colonial world has influenced everyday life and directs the use of urban spaces, creating inequalities and exclusions, even in the process of valorisation and protection of National Cultural Heritage. Mafalala would seem able to rethink the concept of frontier and heritage itself, moving away from the Western vision through an act of re-mapping of memory spaces.
Epifanie teriomorfe negli incantesimi siciliani. Alcune tipologie
PIER LUIGI JOSÉ MANNELLA
Abstract. Synoptical exposicion about the sicilian ritual texts (erotic, prophetic, metheorological or healing charms) that evoke various animals with different powers, features and functions. In Sicilian culture, animals transfigure cosmological and spiritual ideas; they are manifestations of the souls of the dead. Their presence in ritual spells documents the social, political and religious meaning and configuration attributed to them. In this ideology, wolves, dogs, owls, bats, geckos, butterflies, bees carry theological messages, divine revelations or dangers to humanity that reacts by invoking, hosting or hunting them with analogical ceremonies.
Traveling shepherds.Transhumance in Sardinia and Sicily
between historical dynamics, today’s practices and future prospects
SEBASTIANO MANNIA
Abstract. In Sardinia and Sicily, transhumance has been an important economic and socio-cultural device. Pastoral mobility has disappeared in the first region, and recently it is receiving increased attention as touristic and identity object; in Sicily, although re-dimensioned, it is still a vital practice. The intervention is meant to reflect on the historical dynamics, on today’s dimension and on the future perspectives of transhumance, also in relation to Italy’s recent request to UNESCO to recognize this practice as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity

Di lingua, dialetto, territorio e identità. Riflessioni sulla neodialettalità
come paradigma della contemporaneità
GABRIELLA PALERMO
Abstract. The promotion of 2019 as Unesco International Year of Indigenous Languages (IYIL2019) as well as the recognition of Sicilian as a language instead of a dialect from Ethnologue, with the attribution of ISO 639-3 Code, represent opportunities to reflect upon language status and vitality. Against those who believed that the dialect would have disappeared, this code has been able to reinvent itself both in the linguistics phenomenon of code-switching and in a new condition of revival. This article wants to reflect on the relationship between language, dialect and identity in the contemporary society.
